You've Been Running
Long Enough

A faith-based podcast for women ready to stop hiding, start healing, and remember who God created them to be.

I spent 37 years hiding parts of myself.

In the world. In the church. Even in my own home.

I got really good at reading rooms and deciding which version of Rachel was allowed to show up. So good that I almost forgot there was a whole woman underneath all that adjusting.

Maybe you know what I mean.

You’re exhausted — not from the work, but from wearing so many hats that none of them actually fit. Something feels off, but you can’t quite name it. You’re sitting at tables where a place was set for you, but it doesn’t feel like your table. The clothes aren’t yours. The career isn’t yours. Maybe even the church isn’t yours.

It’s a bit like Goldilocks — trying all the chairs, all the beds, all the porridge — searching for the one thing that finally feels right.

For me, that thing was returning to who I’d always been. The woman God made before the world got ahold of me.

What Is Barefoot Conversations?

This is a podcast where women tell the truth about their lives.

Not the highlight reel. Not the testimony that’s been polished for Sunday morning. The real story — the running, the hiding, the breaking, and the moment everything shifted.

Every conversation is different. Some guests are in the middle of their reckoning. Some have already let go of things they carried too long. Some are just now remembering who they were before life buried it. I meet each woman where she is and let the story unfold — no formula, no script, just honest conversation.

This is Christ-centered space. I don’t hide my faith, and neither do my guests. But it’s not preachy. It’s personal. It’s the kind of conversation you’d have on a front porch with someone who actually gets it.

Why "Barefoot"?

You know the story of Moses at the burning bush? God tells him to take off his sandals because he’s standing on holy ground. Barefoot. Unguarded. Nothing between him and the presence of God.

That’s what this podcast is about. Taking off the performance. Removing the layers we’ve built up for protection. Standing — barefoot and unashamed — on the holy ground of who we really are.

Is This Podcast for You?

This might be your podcast if…

You’ve been running from something — a calling, a truth, a version of yourself — and you’re tired. You’ve lost yourself somewhere in motherhood, marriage, career, ministry, or caregiving. You’ve been shaped by everyone else’s expectations and you’re hungry to remember who God actually made you to be. You want real conversations, not surface-level inspiration. You’re a woman of faith who’s ready to stop hiding — in the church and in the world.

Meet Your Host

Hey, I’m Rachel.

I’m a coach, speaker, author, doctoral professor, and mom of eleven. I hold a Doctor of Strategic Leadership with an emphasis in Professional Coaching, and I’m currently pursuing ordination as a minister.

But the credential that matters most for this podcast? I’m a woman who ran from her calling for 37 years.

I gave my heart to Jesus at six years old in Arkansas, and then I spent the next three decades learning how to hide. Hide in assimilation. Hide in achievement. Hide in survival. I covered my faith in secular spaces and covered my fire in church spaces. I performed for everyone and belonged to no one.

And then, in my forties, I finally stopped running.

Here I stand at 43 — fully myself, hiding nothing, apologizing for nothing. And now I hold space for other women to do the same.

Want To Go Deeper?

If you want to sit with this on your own: My book Back to Me: Evolved and Unshaken is my personal journey through hiding, breaking, and becoming. It’s honest, unfiltered, and includes reflection questions to help you process your own story.

If you’re ready to do the work with someone alongside you: Reclamation Coaching is one-on-one transformation for the woman who’s done thinking about it and ready to move. It’s not for everyone — it’s for the woman who’s serious.
